This course is designed to familiarize the participants with the parts of the computer system. The student will learn the following: the diagnostic procedures for identifying, isolating and correcting computer hardware and software problems.  They will also be able to identify tools, diagnostic procedures, troubleshooting techniques and perform preventative maintenance on personal computer components

This course is designed to provide the fundamental concepts of computer networking, using the TCP/IP model as a framework. The participants will be conversant with the five layers of the TCP/IP model and the star topology. They will be able to build simple Ethernet networks, using hubs and switches and private IPv4 addresses; make their own patch cables; and troubleshoot connectivity problems. The students will also use packet tracing exercises to help them visualize and apply the TCP/IP networking model to the networks they actually build.

Multimedia is the combined use of text, graphics, sound, animation, and video. A primary objective of this course is to teach participants how to develop multimedia programs. Another objective is to demonstrate how still images, sound, and video can be digitized on the computer.  It is a comprehensive IT training course designed to provide a fully interactive hands-on approach in learning and understanding a multi-media course similar to a class room type teacher – student atmosphere. This course has two (2) modules namely: Module1: Photo Enhancement and Editing, Module 2: Image Tricks and Animation. These modules are comparative to the expensive courses offered by well known IT schools in the country thus, participants will be using user friendly and WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors/software to ensure that participants will easily learn every modules of the course.

Web Development course is designed for IT enthusiast who are involved or who will be involved in the design, development, and publishing of web pages.  The course deals with the fundamentals of web page development and the implementation of Cascading Style Sheet (CSS), as an easy-to-use, expressive style language.

This course has two (2) modules namely: Module1: Static Web Page Development and  Module 2: Dynamic Web Page Development.

The first module covers the development of static site using Hypertext Markup Language (HTML).  Each page is a separate document and there is no database that it draws on. The second module explains the procedure in developing dynamic or interactive web pages. The content is on a database that allows users for quicker page loading and it allows just about anyone, with limited or no web design experience, to update their own website via an administrative back end.

Cyber Security threats continue to be the main issues being discussed in the global news today. Incidents such as cyber attacks in Estonia, Georgia, South Korea, Japan and Philippines that were suspected to come from Russia, China and Israel; and the talk of cyber warfare and cyber terrorism make the news on an almost daily basis. Cyber attacks can result in critical business losses resulting to economic sabotage or even affects national security just like the Wiki Leaks that exposed most of the critical information of the United States. Cyber criminals and cyber hackers often target firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDSs), and access controls to penetrate the network and cause serious damage to network infrastructure and electronic assets (e.g., data and email).

The purpose of the training course is to provide PNP personnel computer users with the necessary knowledge and skills to protect their work related information assets and IT resources. This course will allow them to learn in an interactive environment and acquire the fundamental understanding of the different computer and network security threats. More importantly, the skills acquired from the course shall enable the PNP as an organization mitigate exposure and take the necessary steps to prevent security exposure.

Computer programming as defined in is the process of writing, testing, debugging/troubleshooting, and maintaining the source code of computer programs. It is sometimes considered a branch of applied mathematics.
This course is designed to assist the PNP personnel with the understanding of typical computer problems. From the general birds eye view, this course deals with the introduction to structured programming, development of Windows – based applications, introduction to object oriented programming, programming database and  introduction to relational database technology.
This course is divided into two (2) major modules: (1) the Application Development Programming Course and (2) Database Development Programming Course.
The application development programming course covers the different types in solving computer programming problems to wit: top-down or divide and conquer approach. It explains the typed variables and constants, operators, control structures, standard libraries, arrays, pointers, I/O with keyboard/monitor and files, and an introduction to objects.
The database development programming course on the other hand, discourses database design which focuses on logical model design and entity relationship (ER) modeling, basic properties of a relational database such as relations, tables, primary keys etc.

Basic Computer Essentials Course (BCEC)

This course is designed to familiarize the participants with the major program groups of Microsoft Office. The course allows the participants hands-on computer experience to investigate and explore the different capabilities inside the Windows Office Package. During the course the participants will produce documents, worksheets and presentations.  At the end of the course the participants will be able to navigate through the different menu and dialog boxes in the windows environment;

  1. Produce and modify text documents using MS Word;
  2. Create, edit and format cells on a worksheet using MS Excel;
  3. Produce and modify presentations using MS PowerPoint.; and
  4. Use internet for research studies and communicate through electronic mail.
